“If I’m below €5,000, that’s not a good month for me.”

You already had a long career before yoummday. What did you do previously and what drew you here?

I was in sales in the petrochemical industry – a senior executive. I’ve already had a really strong career behind me.

In the end it was mainly a question of prospects and money. I’m 48, and at some point people often say: “overqualified”. And here I saw that there are earning opportunities that are genuinely attractive – 5,000, 6,000 euros and more per month. If I’m below €5,000, that’s not a good month for me.

Many people talk about working from home and self-discipline. How do you experience that in your daily life?

You only get paid here when you work – that’s the reality. You don’t need “self-discipline in the classical sense”, but goals. You have to go in with clear goals and not take everything personally.

I come from sales, I already think differently. For me this is more of a performance environment.

You also have a very clear rhythm. What does your working day actually look like, and what defines your style?

I usually work from 9am to 12:30pm and then again from 3pm to 6:30pm. I also work on Saturdays – that’s my classic sales day. That’s when I look after customers and everything that follows up.

I’m not a typical telesales person. I have a sales mindset. I talk to customers longer, go deeper, and stay persistent. I come from many different sectors – chemicals, trade, logistics – and that helps me enormously today because I can talk to very different types of customers.

And how do you experience working in the team or in the project?

We do have a strong team. There’s competition, but more in a positive sense. You compete with each other, but you also genuinely want each other to succeed.

Everyone works for themselves, but you can tell: the level is high.

What personally drives you every day?

Honestly: the money and the freedom. When I work, I earn well. And I don’t have anyone constantly interfering. I work at my own pace.

And in the end, for me it’s always about performance and results.

Looking back at your first year at yoummday, would you say you’ve arrived exactly where you wanted to be?

I always look at how much time I invest and what I get back. And at the moment, the project I’m in is exactly the right fit for me. I don’t need anything more right now.
