Working at yoummday
What kinds of projects are there?
The range is diverse — from pure customer service to sales projects:
How long does it take before I can get started?
If you have all your documents to hand, the whole process — from sign-up to activation on the platform — usually takes about two days. After that you complete your profile and become immediately visible to clients. Our tip: actively apply to projects that fit you — it boosts your chances and speeds up the start. After a successful application you'll be invited to a selection call, and if everything fits, you'll soon start your first project — which begins with paid training so you're fully prepared.
How do I get to start on a project?
There are two ways:
Can I work on several projects at once?
Yes, you can work on several projects in parallel. Just make sure you manage your time well and reliably handle all your projects.
Can I switch projects if one doesn't suit me?
Yes, you're not tied to a single project. If you notice that a project isn't right for you, you can apply to and switch to other projects at any time. Since you can work on several projects in parallel, you also have the chance to try out different areas and find out what suits you best.
Are there fixed working hours?
You decide for yourself when you work – within the service hours of the specific project. Each project has its own service hours, which you'll always find upfront in the job details before you apply. Within those hours, you add yourself flexibly to the shift calendar. The only thing that matters is that you reliably stick to the shifts you've booked – or let the project lead know in good time if something comes up.
How flexible am I – can I pause or stop at any time?
Completely flexible. There's no minimum term and no notice period — you decide for yourself when and how much you work. If you need a break or are planning a trip, you simply don't enter yourself in the shift calendar for that period. And if you want to stop, you simply let your Talent Team Lead know — the rest is handled smoothly. No pressure, no paperwork.
Can I work from anywhere in the world?
Yes, you work 100% from home, no matter where. The only requirement: a quiet, secure workspace with a stable internet connection. Unfortunately, we cannot work with people from countries on the EU or US sanctions lists.
I live in two countries – can I still work at yoummday?
Yes – as long as you have a quiet workspace with a stable internet connection, it doesn't matter where you work from. However, since residences in different countries can raise individual tax and legal questions, we recommend briefly clarifying this in advance with a tax advisor in your country – so you're on the safe side from the start.
Am I an employee?
No, you are not in an employment relationship. You work as a self-employed person on the yoummday platform. That means you are neither an employee of yoummday nor of the respective client.
Your Profile
Who is yoummday for?
yoummday is right for anyone who can work as a freelancer and has a remote workspace that can't be viewed by third parties. Prior call center experience is not required. Since you can work flexibly as a freelancer, yoummday fits many life situations: you're studying and want to top up your account. You're on parental leave and looking for flexible work alongside everyday life. You work part time and want to earn more. Or you're starting out in working life from scratch.
What requirements do I need to meet?
You need to be at least 18 years old and working as a freelancer – those are the basic requirements. Beyond that: an open mind and a willingness to learn new things will take you far. The remaining requirements depend on the specific project – from beginner to expert. On top of that, you get targeted training before every project. The best part: you grow with every project and build your skills directly in practice.
What does it mean to be a freelancer?
With yoummday you work as a freelancer, not as an employee. You choose for yourself which projects you work on, when you take shifts and how much you work. yoummday connects you with the clients and provides the platform that runs everything – from application to invoicing. You can sign up right now – even if you haven't registered self-employment yet.
Which languages do I need to speak?
Many languages are in demand at yoummday, and our range of projects is constantly growing. To find your way around with us, you should at least understand German or English. For our projects, the three most sought-after languages are currently German, English and Dutch, each from B2 level. But other languages can be in demand too – depending on which projects are currently looking for new freelance Talents. The best thing is to see for yourself: signing up is free and non-binding – and maybe there's already a project waiting for exactly you.
I've never worked in a call center – can I still do this?
Absolutely. Many people who work successfully on yoummday today had no experience in customer contact when they started. Before a project assignment, you get training – you learn how to solve typical customer queries, how the client's product works and how to navigate the systems. You won't be thrown in at the deep end.
I'm on parental leave / studying / retired / working part time – does that work?
Many of our Talents work with us during exactly these life phases. The free shift planning and the 100% home-office model fit well with an everyday life that doesn't run on a 9-to-5 schedule. So you can divide up your hours flexibly with us – for a full-time or a part-time role.
Payment & Costs
What can I earn?
The level of compensation varies from project to project. Your personal performance, the workload on the respective project and the type of project (inbound or outbound) all play a decisive role. See current projects.
How and when do payouts happen?
We always pay out on the 18th of the month (on the next business day if it's a holiday) — for the full previous month. The payment goes to the bank details you've saved in your profile. Make sure your bank details there are correct and up to date. For accounts outside Germany, the transfer can take a few days longer depending on the bank and country. So you don't have to worry about it, we handle the invoicing for you. The document is generated on the 4th of each month and is then available for you to download.
How long does it take from signing up to my first earnings?
If you have all your documents to hand, you're usually activated on the platform within two days and can apply to projects. How quickly it starts after that depends on the specific project – some begin straight away with the training, others have fixed start dates. You'll always find the exact details in the project offer before you apply.
Does the yoummday platform cost me anything?
Your account on our platform is free. Depending on the project type, however, a cash-discount may apply if you created your account after April 1, 2025. You'll find more information here.
What is the Skonto and who is it deducted from?
For all Talent accounts created on or after 1 April 2025, an amount of 2.9% is withheld from every payout. This is referred to as "Skonto" and is deducted directly from your compensation – you don't need to do anything further. You'll find all the details in the terms that apply to you, which you can view directly in the "Finances" section on the platform after signing up.
How does taxation work?
As a freelancer, you pay tax on your income yourself in your country of residence. Since tax rules vary widely by country and personal situation, we recommend consulting a local tax advisor – they can best help you set everything up correctly.
Registration
How does sign-up work?
Signing up is free and done in just a few steps: you register via this website and create your account, then upload the required documents. After that you book an onboarding appointment — a short video call with us where we confirm your identity, test your setup and show you the platform. Once everything's done, you complete your profile and can apply to projects right away.
Which documents do I need to upload?
To make sure you're a real person working independently, we need three documents from you during onboarding for legal and tax reasons:
What are the technical requirements?
You need a computer with an up-to-date operating system including antivirus software, a wired headset with a microphone and a stable internet connection. A tip from our community: a second screen makes working much more comfortable — many of our Talents swear by it.
Am I obliged to do anything after signing up?
No, signing up is completely non-binding. You take your time to look around, see which projects are available and decide for yourself whether and when you want to get started. No minimum volume, no deadline, no pressure.
