“I enjoy working with customers – and that’s exactly what I do here every day.”

How did you come to yoummday and how did your start go?

I heard about yoummday through a friend who had already worked there. He invited me directly via the referral link. After that it went pretty quickly – registration, onboarding, application, then straight into training, and after a short time I was already actively working in the project.

I come from the same field – I’d already worked in retention for several years. For me, it wasn’t something completely new. I just didn’t know at the start that yoummday had exactly this kind of project. When I saw that, I said: okay, this fits.

The start itself was very direct. After training I was quickly in real customer conversations. No long preparation – just start and jump straight into practice.

What does your working day look like?

My day is pretty clearly structured. I usually work from 9am to 5pm. In the mornings I’m in customer conversations, then I have a break, and afterwards I continue.

That break is really important to me. If you just work straight through, it eventually becomes too much or simply monotonous. I use the time to decompress: scroll a bit, watch films, just briefly switch off. Then I get back to it with a clear head.

In general, I need this structure. Even when I’m working from home, it helps me enormously to stay focused. I create my own rhythm, but I also stick to it consistently – just as I set it for myself at the start.

What motivates you about your work?

What I really like: customers usually don’t call about complicated problems, but because they want something specific – usually a contract renewal.

That makes the conversations very direct and relaxed. You don’t have the pressure of having to convince someone who isn’t interested at all. The customers are already there with a specific request, and in the end it’s usually a win-win situation.

What also motivates me: I work very disciplined. Even as a freelancer, I stick to my fixed plan. For me it’s like a normal job with fixed hours – I don’t see myself as “free in the sense of chaotic”, but rather as structured as an employee.

And of course earnings play a role too. You can see directly: when you perform, it shows. That’s a good feeling and provides additional motivation.

We try to create a sense of community for our talents despite remote work and offer several channels for that. How do you experience the collaboration in everyday life?

Honestly, pretty well and also quite close.

There’s lots of contact with the team, the TTL, and other talents. If I have a question, I get a quick answer. It’s not like you’re sitting somewhere alone and have to figure things out for yourself.

Between each other it’s also very supportive. We have groups where we exchange ideas, help each other, or simply write when something comes up. Even small things get sorted out directly. That makes everyday life much easier.

I sometimes really feel like it’s more of a collaborative way of working, rather than everyone for themselves.

What does the flexibility mean to you?

I have fixed working hours, but still lots of freedom in everyday life. I work completely from home, can organise my day well, and also plan things like holidays in advance.

I like this mix of freedom and structure. I know when I work, but I still have the opportunity to plan my life around it.

You’ve now been at yoummday for more than half a year. What would you tell new talents?

You should definitely enjoy working with customers and be patient.

In retention, it’s often the case that a “no” at the beginning isn’t really the end. You have to keep at it and learn to lead conversations properly.

And you also need a certain discipline. Just because you’re a freelancer doesn’t mean you can take it easy. I work on my plan just as consistently as if I were a permanent employee – and that’s the key for me.

Looking back, what convinced you most about working at yoummday?

Looking back at the last few months, getting started was really straightforward for me. I could get going quickly, was given clear structures, and knew from the very beginning what needed to be done. At the same time, there was always someone there when I had questions. That gave me a lot of confidence.

What convinced me most is this combination of freedom and stability. I can work from home, set my own hours, and yet everything is clearly organised. I know exactly what’s expected of me, and at the same time I have the flexibility to build my daily life around it.

In the end, it doesn’t feel like “just some job” to me, but like a way of working that really fits my life.
