“Progress is not always visible, but it is always happening”

Paloma, tell us a bit about yourself and your journey with yoummday.

My name is Paloma, I’m 40 years old, half Brazilian and half Italian, and I’m currently based in Milan, in the north of Italy.

I joined yoummday at the end of 2022 after discovering the opportunity while searching for remote work on LinkedIn. I started as a customer service agent, fully committed from day one to learning and growing in the role. Since then, my journey has evolved step by step: from Freelance Talent to Freelance Subject Matter Expert (SME), then Freelance Account Manager and finally Freelance TTL leading multiple teams and Talents.

What makes this journey so meaningful is not only the progression itself, but the trust and recognition received along the way. I deeply value being in an environment where consistency and dedication are truly seen and rewarded.

Today, I see my role as more than operational. I see myself as a mentor and facilitator – someone who listens, supports, and helps others grow while continuing to grow alongside them. I genuinely love what I do, and I put my heart into it.

Is there a moment along this path that has stayed with you in particular?

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey is the journey itself – from agent to Freelance TTL. But what stands out even more is seeing people I have supported grow into leadership roles themselves.

One colleague I trained as an agent initially doubted whether she was ready for the next step. With time, encouragement, and trust, she took the leap, grew into the role in another project, and today she is a successful Freelance TTL at yoummday. Watching that transformation has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

As a Freelance TTL, you now guide several teams yourself. What do you love most about working with Talents, and what can be tricky sometimes?

What I enjoy most is human connection. Every person is different, with their own strengths, personality, and way of working. I enjoy taking the time to understand people, build trust, and support them in a way that truly fits who they are.

The most challenging part is also what makes it rewarding: there is no single approach that works for everyone. It requires patience, active listening, and constant adaptability.

Is there something about working with yoummday that positively surprised you?

What surprised me most is how consistently growth, effort, and dedication are recognized. I value being in an environment where responsibility is given based on trust and performance, and where development is an integral part of the journey.

You’ve been with the company for a while now – how has the Talent community changed over that time?

Over time, I’ve seen it become more structured, more connected, and more aware of balance. There is a growing focus on mental health, wellbeing, and sustainable performance, which I deeply appreciate. It feels like a real community where people support each other, even remotely.

What has freelancing itself given you – beyond the job?

Freelancing has helped me become more observant and intentional in how I interact with people. It has also given me something very valuable: flexibility – the ability to manage time and maintain balance between work and personal life, which I truly appreciate.

Where do you see your own growth opportunities over the next few years?

In the coming years, I see myself continuing to grow in leadership, deepening my expertise in operations, and further developing in sales leadership. For me, growth is not defined only by titles, but by impact, learning, achievements, and the journey itself.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting as a Talent with yoummday?

Stay curious and patient. Curiosity helps you learn faster and understand people better, while patience helps you stay consistent when progress takes time. Real success comes from discipline, consistency, and showing up every day with the right mindset.

What message or encouragement would you like to share with our Talent community?

Be kind to yourself. Be patient with your growth. Not every day will be easy, and that is okay. Progress is not always visible, but it is always happening.

Pause when you need to. Breathe when things feel overwhelming. And remember that even on difficult days, you are likely doing better than you think.
